Who we are

SAYO KUMASI HOUSE Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation purposely founded by a former African refugee to plan and run community programs for disadvantaged African youths and migrants including their families focused on mental health, drugs and alcohol awareness, support and prevention in Western Sydney.

We also provide early intervention support to children and young refugees who are showing early signs of, or are at risk of developing mental illness and those experiencing complex trauma as a result of civil wars in their home country. Our team includes clinical and counselling psychologists, specialised social workers, psychotherapists, family therapists and specialist nurses. We are a range of professional volunteers with the skills needed to assess, refer to treatment and provide ongoing evaluation of children, teens, younger adults and their families. Working in this way is key in meeting the complex physical, social, behavioural and psychological needs of children, teens and young adults who are aged 25 and under with mental health problems.

Our goal is to promote mental health and drug & alcohol awareness among the African refugees and migrant’s communities in western Sydney and foster positive attitudes to mental health in the larger community.
